Wedding Live Music Singapore - Duo Live Band for Teddy & Emelia

I'm so glad that my singer friend, Monique Natahusada, asked me to team up with her to perform for her friends' wedding, Teddy & Emelia. They are Indonesians, so I was pretty sure that it's gonna be some interactive kind of live music performance for their wedding. You know...somehow Indonesians are very voluntarily participative ;)

The wedding lunch gathering's held in Chijmes Hall, Singapore. It's kind of cool to see many of the couple friends came there from many parts of the world. Teddy stays in Vancouver and Emelia stayed in Singapore back then. Now they live happily ever after in Vancouver.

During the celebration, we mixed our romantic repertoire from jazz, Indonesian, latin, top 40, evergreen, etc. Here're some of our performance, featuring the soulful vocal of Monique - the wedding singer :

As a worship leader & guitarist in his church in Vancouver, Teddy's wrote his original song for Emelia, his beautiful bride. Here's the romantic performance on "From This Moment" by Teddy & Emelia, followed by Teddy's special song for Emelia :

Here's some duo by the groom, Teddy, on vocal-guitar and Monique. Nice guitar licks, right? ;)

They choose "Mutiara Hatiku," (Eng : The Pearl of My Heart) an Indonesian song for their 2nd March-in:

Joining the groom & the bride groom all the musical families on stage to sing another Indonesian song, "Semua Karena Cinta" (Eng : All Because of Love), lead by Monique, featuring : Teddy, the groom - on acoustic guitar, Tristan - on cajon. We had quite a big combo with all the joyful sincere song to show their gratitude <3

Here's the cake cutting ceremony lead by Jasmine the MC while I played  live solo guitar instrumental back ground. I choose "Endless Love" to depict this precious moment :

And here's some romantic Indonesian song which was so famous when I grew up, "Kemesraan Ini" (Eng : This Romance) by Gombloh, Monique on vocal, featuring Mervyn, a friend of the couple, on cajon. This also to precede the flower toss which believe to bless the receiver, a single lady, to get married next.

Being in Indonesian's party, they all love to dance and participate in the gathering. Towards the end of the celebration, Monique & Jasmine lead everybody do some Polonaise.  It's also to usher the couple, followed by the guests to go out from the ballroom. This could be the unique highlight from this wedding celebration that you might find it here :

In usual wedding celebration usually the guests just watch and enjoy us the live band entertaining them, but Indonesian are usually more participating, they loved to take part somehow to help the couple - it's very family oriented.

I'm glad that I still keep in touch with Teddy & Emelia as friends - it's a divine connection through Monique as their best friend. We had a good preparation together as team for this memorable moment of Teddy & Emelia's wedding, from brain-storming, discussion, rehearsal, witnessing and many heartfelt moments during the wedding day itself.

Let me end my Blog with our live wedding band performance "Fly Me to the Moon" with my dearest friend Monique Natahusada - let's swing to the moon ;)

We wish the couple, Mr & Mrs Turisno a blissful and blessed marriage as Jesus' the centre of their marriage.

Cheers,
Daniel Purnomo
